Dr. Peder Nordberg
Dr. Peder Nordberg
Dr. Peder Nordberg, DDS, joined his father’s dental practice in June, 2013. The youngest child of Dr. Kim and Bette Nordberg, Peder is very much a local boy, having attended Ridgecrest Elementary, Ferrcucci Junior High and Rogers High School. From Puyallup, Peder travelled to Pullman where he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington State University with a degree in Bioengineering.
Peder graduated early from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in southern California and was offered a position in the Loma Linda post-graduate Implant Dental Residency program. Though deeply honored, Dr. Peder chose to return to Puyallup and join the family business. Here, his passion for his patients and for all things dental has made him a vital part of our dental team.
Dr. Peder and his dad have made numerous Christian Medical Dental Association mission trips, mentoring other UCLA and USC dental students while providing dental care to the people in Guatemala. Dr. Peder has been selected by Clinical Research Associates to evaluate and study the newest dental procedures and materials.
When he isn’t caring for his patients, you can find Peder working on his house (a major fixer upper!) caring for his dog Ginger, or tinkering with his dirt bike.
Dr. Kim Nordberg
Dr. Kim Nordberg
Dr. Kim Nordberg grew up on a family farm just three miles from our present office on 112th and Canyon Road. After attending Midland Elementary, Franklin Pierce High School, and Tacoma Community College Kim graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a B.S. in Chemistry.
In 1979 he graduated from the University of Washington Dental School where the American Society of Dentistry for Children recognized him for his work in pediatric dentistry. Soon after, Kim and his wife Bette returned to Tacoma with their newborn son and opened his first dental office. That rented space, above a furniture store, was just a few hundred feet from our office.
In the many years since, Dr. Nordberg has continued his dental education in many venues:
- A member of Clinical Research Associates in their studies of dental procedures and materials (with founder Dr. Gordon Christiansen).
- Studying advanced clinical endodontics with Dr. John West.
- Studying the critical surgical placement and design of Nobel Dental Implants, which he provides to select patients.
- Becoming proficient in computer assisted creation of ceramic crowns, (reducing the appointments needed for crown preparation and placement to a single office visit.
Dr. Nordberg’s service on boards and committees includes:
- Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center Board of Directors (30+ years)
- Pierce County Dental Society Board of Directors
- Pierce County Dental Society Peer Review Board
- Washington State Dental Association Insurance Committee
Dr. Nordberg has served Loma Linda University Dental School as Adjunct Professor. For more than twenty years, he has travelled annually with the USC, UCLA and Loma Linda Dental Schools and the California Christian Medical/Dental Association as clinical instructor on Central American dental missions.
Kim and his wife Bette, married more than forty years, were part of the planting team for Lighthouse Christian Center. They are proud of their four grown children—two of them dentists! Together, they share great joy in their grandchildren.
One more thing: As the son of a barber and teacher's assistant, Dr. Kim is proud of his blue-collar roots. His first goal is to help you with your primary dental concerns. At our office, you won't find yourself coerced into additional expensive or overly aggressive treatment. We'll begin by addressing your most urgent dental needs, customizing your care to fit both your financial and dental concerns. With time and trust, our patients achieve and maintain their dental health.
Over many years in practice Dr. Nordberg most appreciates the wonderful long-term relationships he has with his patients. He treasures the trust and teamwork that evolve into deep friendships—all of which make his work so rich with joy and satisfaction.
